HACKS MALAYSIA SDN BHD was set up in the mid sixties by the late Hj.M Abubacker, the founder Chairman of the Barkath group. An enterprising man great foresight, the late Hajee obtained manufacturing rights from the original makers of "HACKS" sweets in the UNITED KINGDOM in the early sixties to set up local production.

Today, HACKS MALAYSIA offers a wide confectionery line consisting of "HACKS" medicated cough drops ("HACKS" BLACK) and hardboiled sweets of other flavours such as Honey Lemon, Blackcurrant, Mandarin Ginger and Clove and Apple, and other general confectioneries.

The factory is located at Mak Mandin Industrial Estate with a built-up area of 40,000 sq.ft. It is fully automated and has a workforce of 200 people.

Future expansion of the factory will include investment in other fully automated confectionery machine to fast production of other varities of confectionery like toffees, centre-filled sweets and chocolate eclairs. HACKS MALAYSIA also has manufactured another quality brand of medicated sweet called "KIKOF" for export and franchise to international markets.
